This seems a bit obvious in hindsight now, so that made me wonder if it was already accounted for somehow in the game design and there's a serious flaw with that strategy? Like, does the game know you were in full light when you first saw a curio so even if you wait to open it later it doesn't give the bonus loot for being in the dark? Or does going back through the dungeon in darkness after killing everything carry a serious risk? Or is it just that its too time consuming for most people to want to bother with? So I was realizing while playing, what if instead of looting everything as I come across it, I first go and kill everything in the dungeon with the torch fully lit to make the battles easier and scouting chance higher, but then after everything is dead, I snuff the torch and go back through the dungeon again looting all the chests and curios in total darkness? This not only would increase the loot gain from the curios, but also make it easier to not run out of room in inventory (because now inventory will no longer need to contain torches and extra food for emergency healing and shovels for barriors, and I know what provisions I can dump if I hadn't seen any curios on the first pass that needed them).
